Governor of Menoufia and Deputy Minister of Housing Inaugurate Wastewater Pumping Stations

Major General Ibrahim Abu Limon, Governor of Menoufia, and Dr. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing, inaugurated several service and development projects in the villages of Tala Center as part of the Sustainable Rural Sanitation Services Program. The projects are funded by the World Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), with a total investment exceeding EGP 1.381 billion.

Among the inaugurations was the wastewater pumping station in Manshat Mohamed, constructed at a cost of EGP 186 million. The station serves approximately 39,000 residents, and all civil and electromechanical works have been completed. The project also includes the implementation of gravity sewer networks and pressure pipelines.

The Governor and Deputy Minister also inaugurated the Kafr Al-Alawi sanitation project, valued at EGP 67 million, which serves 6,000 residents. The project has seen the completion of all civil and electromechanical works, along with the construction of gravity networks and force mains, and the connection of 714 household units.

Another significant project inaugurated was the Kafr Al-Sharafa Al-Gharbi sanitation project, built at a cost of EGP 73 million to serve 4,000 citizens. All civil and electromechanical works were finalized, as well as the installation of sewer networks and pressure pipelines. Additionally, 996 household connections were established.

Governor Abu Limon emphasized the continued progress of major sanitation projects across the governorate to prepare them for full operation. The Deputy Minister of Housing praised the governor’s efforts in improving the drinking water and wastewater infrastructure, noting their importance in supporting sustainable development. The Governor also commended the Sustainable Rural Sanitation Services Program for its significant impact on service quality in villages.

Local residents expressed their gratitude to the officials for their dedication to enhancing service levels and living standards in rural communities.
