As part of the Ministry of Housing’s ongoing efforts to address the impacts of climate change, the National Housing and Building Research Center (HBRC) has developed codes and guiding manuals to secure structures in coastal areas. This initiative aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030, which emphasizes sustainable urban development.
In this context, the center organized a workshop titled “Local Experiences in Planning, Executing, and Managing Development Projects on the North Coast and the Requirements for Climate Change Adaptation.”
In his opening remarks, Mohamed Massoud El-Saadawy, Chairman of the Board, highlighted the importance of enhancing protective measures for coastal zones against the effects of climate change, a challenge that threatens many nations, particularly in coastal and deltaic regions.
He also urged experts and specialists to enrich the workshop discussions with their diverse experiences, aiming to establish clear strategies that could inform the development of a specialized code for coastal protection requirements.
