Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, along with Dr. Mohamed Hany Ghoneim, Governor of Beni Suef, paid a visit to the Al-Fuqai Drinking Water Treatment Plant. This plant is part of the first phase of the presidential initiative “Decent Life” aimed at developing villages across rural Egypt. The visit was part of an inspection tour of projects in the Beba Center of Beni Suef Governorate.
During the visit, the Minister of Housing and the Beni Suef Governor reviewed the components of the Al-Fuqai plant. They received a detailed briefing from Engineer Dina Omar, Head of the Beni Suef Drinking Water and Sanitation Company. She explained that the plant has a capacity of 8.60 thousand cubic meters per day and serves approximately 35,000 beneficiaries. The plant’s service coverage includes the villages of Al-Fuqai, Kafr Gomaa, Geziret Al-Fuqai, and Miniat Al-Gayed.
She also pointed out that the recent work completed at the station included the supply and installation of electromechanical systems. In this regard, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny instructed the team to expedite the remaining work so that the plant can begin serving residents in the targeted villages as soon as possible.
The Minister was accompanied on the tour by several members of Parliament representing the governorate, as well as representatives from the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater, the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation, the Regulatory Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation, the Beni Suef Water and Sanitation Company, and the executing contractors.
