A group of ministers, including the Minister of Housing and Utilities and the Minister of Planning, inaugurated a new branch of the “Gomla Market” retail chain in the Heritage City of New Alamein. The event was attended by the Governor of Matrouh. The Minister of Housing emphasized that opening this branch aims to meet the needs of the city’s residents during the summer season, highlighting the importance of providing essential goods at reasonable prices.
For her part, the Minister of Local Development reaffirmed the ministry’s support for efforts to expand the establishment of retail chains to ensure the availability of essential commodities at high quality and affordable prices. She also stressed the importance of supporting the private sector in this field.
Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply, underscored the importance of expanding hypermarket chains to modernize the internal trade sector. He pointed to their role in supplying goods of high quality and affordable pricing, especially in new cities like Alamein. He also noted the ministry’s ongoing efforts to attract investments to this sector as part of its contribution to economic development.
Meanwhile, Minister of Agriculture Alaa Farouk affirmed his ministry’s commitment to supporting development projects and enhancing the investment climate in the agricultural sector, with a particular focus on supporting small-scale projects and creating job opportunities.
Eng. Ahmed Ibrahim, Head of the New Alamein City Authority, explained that the Gomla Market branch in the Heritage City is the largest in the North Coast. It spans 3,000 square meters and consists of two floors with a total built-up area of 5,352 square meters.
