Housing Minister and Qalyubia Governor Inspect Nub Taha Water Station and El-Qesheesh Wastewater Treatment Plant

At the conclusion of his inspection tour of the “Decent Life” presidential initiative projects, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, along with Qalyubia Governor, Eng. Ayman Atiya, visited the El-Qesheesh wastewater treatment plant and the Nub Taha village water station. The visit was attended by officials from the Ministry, the Governorate, and the Regulatory Authority for Drinking Water and Wastewater.

During the visit, the components of the surface water treatment plant in Nub Taha were reviewed. The station produces 10,000 cubic meters of water per day, filtered through 12 units. It includes a raw water sump, a clean water reservoir, various water treatment units, and fire control systems.

The station is equipped with a backup generator that can power the entire facility, as well as perimeter fencing and security gates. It has been connected to the surrounding villages’ water network following successful health and safety testing. The facility also includes administrative offices and equipment to measure water levels and discharge rates.

The Minister of Housing and the Governor of Qalyubia also inspected the El-Qesheesh wastewater treatment plant, which covers an area of 7 feddans and serves approximately 120,000 residents. The plant comprises several key structures such as the inlet building, aeration basins, sedimentation tanks, and a sludge lifting station.

During the visit, the Minister listened to a detailed explanation of the treated water analysis procedures and instructed officials to expedite the handover of completed stations to improve service quality for citizens.
