Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, along with Major General Ahmed Khaled Hassan Saeed, Governor of Alexandria, inspected the ongoing construction of Bridge 45 (Al-Sadat Axis), a strategic project connecting Al-Sadat Street to the International Coastal Road. Executed by the Central Agency for Reconstruction, the project spans 2.6 kilometers and includes three traffic lanes in each direction. It aims to modernize East Alexandria and strengthen connections between the city, the coastal highway, and the agricultural road.
The Minister of Housing stressed the need to accelerate construction work due to the project’s strategic importance in linking several main traffic axes. He also emphasized the importance of on-site coordination and regular removal of construction debris. Continuous field presence and collaboration with relevant authorities are essential to ensure the project is completed as swiftly as possible.
Additionally, both the Minister and the Governor requested the establishment of a green space featuring recreational activities to serve as a public outlet for residents and visitors of the area once the project is completed. This initiative aims to improve the visual appeal of the surrounding environment.
Governor Ahmed Khaled confirmed that the road development project is among the most vital infrastructure efforts in Alexandria. It aims to alleviate traffic congestion at the intersection of Mohamed Anwar Al-Sadat Street and Mostafa Kamel Street. This road serves as a primary entrance to the eastern part of the city, connecting it to both the International Coastal Road and the Agricultural Road.
Major General Mahmoud Nassar, Head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction, explained that the project is designed to accommodate growing traffic volumes and reduce travel time between major roads. It also enhances the utility of the Al-Sadat tunnel and bridges that were inaugurated in June 2023.
