Governor of Ismailia: We Are Committed to Removing All Building Violations and Reclaiming State-Owned Lands

Major General Pilot Staff Officer Akram Galal, Governor of Ismailia, affirmed that there is a serious directive to remove all building violations and to reclaim state-owned lands, emphasizing that any encroachment on agricultural lands will be dealt with firmly.

The governor pointed out that 11 projects have been inaugurated, providing 31,000 job opportunities with investments reaching 600 million USD in the economic zone along the Suez Canal axis.

In a different context, the governor added that the phenomenon of garbage and scavengers affects the daily lives of citizens. A strategy has been developed to reduce this issue, including awareness campaigns launched to educate citizens about the dangers of garbage. A new initiative has also been introduced in the Arab District by assigning a garbage collection vehicle to operate at specific times. He confirmed that the governorate will collaborate with waste collection companies to resolve this crisis.

Major General Akram Galal stated that the Arab District was the first area established in the governorate back in 1859 at the start of the Suez Canal excavation, highlighting its historical importance. He explained that the infrastructure has been rehabilitated, roads have been paved, and informal markets have been transformed into formal urban markets. Additionally, a recreational area has been created at a cost of 16 million EGP. He also pointed out that the Free Zone includes 163 projects with investments amounting to 900 million USD, featuring contributions from multiple countries, which boosts the local economy and provides job opportunities.
