Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, welcomed a Saudi delegation that included representatives from the Ministries of Investment, Municipalities and Housing, and the Saudi Contractors Authority. The meeting aimed to explore opportunities for cooperation and the exchange of expertise. Minister El-Sherbiny expressed his appreciation for the strong ties between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the importance of strengthening collaboration in real estate development, facilitating Egyptian companies’ entry into the Saudi market, and supporting Saudi firms operating in Egypt.
Engineer Mohamed Sami, President of the Egyptian Federation for Construction and Building Contractors, extended his gratitude to Minister El-Sherbiny for his unwavering support of Egyptian companies and his role in coordinating new project opportunities in Saudi Arabia. He affirmed that such support would significantly enhance the potential for Egyptian firms to expand their operations in the Saudi market. In return, members of the Saudi delegation thanked the Minister for the warm reception and stressed the importance of collaborative efforts between relevant authorities in both countries to reinforce bilateral relations.
The Saudi delegation reiterated the Kingdom’s openness to welcoming Egyptian investors and companies into the Saudi market, noting that several Egyptian firms are already engaged in large-scale projects. They expressed a desire to increase the number of Egyptian companies in Saudi Arabia, given their proven expertise in construction and infrastructure. Additionally, members of the Egyptian Contractors Federation proposed the establishment of a joint operational mechanism between Egyptian and Saudi companies to expand their work into new markets, highlighting the success of Egyptian investments in the Kingdom.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Minister El-Sherbiny praised the proposal to create alliances between Egyptian and Saudi companies for executing major projects in new markets. He pointed to the successful partnership between Arab Contractors and the Chinese company CSCEC as a model to emulate. The Minister affirmed the continued commitment of the Ministry of Housing to support investors, particularly those from Saudi Arabia, and to promote the exchange of knowledge and experience. He stressed the importance of ongoing coordination to develop a strategic plan outlining key areas of cooperation and shared objectives.
