Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, reviewed the progress of developmental projects in the cities of New Sohag, New Beni Suef, and New Obour. These projects encompass housing and public utilities. A particular focus was placed on upgrading the electricity network in New Sohag, where Engineer Sherif Abdel Badi, Head of the City Authority, inspected Phase II of the electricity grid in the 455-acre area. The operational tests for the electricity distribution station in that zone have been completed. This station will supply power to residential projects, such as “Diarna,” with a focus on close coordination with the Upper Egypt Electricity Distribution Company to expedite service delivery.
Dr. Ahmed Ismail Gaber, Head of the New Obour City Authority, conducted a field tour to follow up on infrastructure works in the Al-Amal area. In District 2, utility connections are underway for 500 m² land plots. In District 3, water and sewage systems are being connected to 400 m² plots.
Work also continues in Districts 4 and 5 for plots ranging from 350 to 450 m². In District 32, infrastructure development is ongoing in District 4 (209 m²) and District 2 (276 m²) in preparation for land handover. Gaber also inspected the Obour 6 power station in the Thirteenth District to support the electrical supply for new areas.
New Beni Suef City has witnessed progress in its housing projects. Engineer Ahmed Abdel Gaber, Head of the City Authority, inspected two major projects: “Diarna” and “Housing for All Egyptians.”

Diarna Project: Comprises 10 residential buildings offering a total of 260 middle-income housing units.

Housing for All Egyptians Project: This initiative includes 84 buildings with a total of 2,016 housing units, specifically designed for low-income citizens.
These projects aim to provide adequate housing while adhering to quality standards and construction timelines.
Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny also emphasized the need to intensify oversight and coordination with implementing companies to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules, stressing the importance of meeting citizens’ needs and accelerating the delivery of land plots and utilities.
