Dr. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing, received representatives of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) to follow up on the Urban Water Incentive Initiative project. The project aims to enhance the performance of the Luxor Drinking Water and Wastewater Company and boost its ability to adapt to climate change, with a focus on achieving sustainable development goals. The initiative is funded by several entities, including the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and GIZ.
Dr. Sayed Ismail opened the meeting by welcoming the attendees and emphasizing the Ministry of Housing’s support for the initiative of the Luxor Drinking Water and Wastewater Company, which aligns with the national water strategy. The initiative’s officials presented the executive steps and expressed their confidence in the capabilities of the Luxor company and the Ministry’s support as a driving force for achieving the initiative’s goals.
The Chairman of the Luxor Drinking Water and Wastewater Company reaffirmed the company’s commitment to enhancing employee efficiency and leveraging the initiative’s support, noting that financial independence is a strategic objective. The Deputy Minister of Housing also directed the formation of a committee to monitor the implementation of the initiative and overcome obstacles, stressing his personal field follow-up of the implementation results.
