We Successfully Delivered Over 2.8 Million Housing Units Worth EGP 660 Billion in Six Years

Eng. Omar Khattab, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Housing, revealed that Egypt has made significant achievements in the housing sector during the current decade. The state has succeeded in delivering more than 2.8 million housing units that meet the needs of all segments of Egyptian society, with a particular focus on supporting low-income groups.

Khattab pointed out that the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative has achieved remarkable success by providing one million housing units specifically for low-income citizens. This is part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at achieving social justice and providing decent housing for all citizens. The state offers generous subsidies of up to 60% of the unit’s value, and in some cases, it bears between EGP 300,000 to 400,000 of the cost of a single unit.

The state has invested around EGP 660 billion in the housing sector over the past six years, with a strong focus on creating integrated residential communities with full services. Measures have been taken to reduce costs, such as offering land at nominal prices, which positively impacted housing unit prices. The housing policy also extends to provincial capitals to ensure fair geographic distribution and to meet the needs of all segments across different regions, thereby enhancing social justice.
