Reviewing Drinking Water and Sanitation Projects under Decent Life Initiative in Gharbia and Damietta Governorates

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting last night to follow up on the progress of drinking water and sanitation projects under the presidential initiative Decent Life (Hayah Karima) in the governorates of Gharbia and Damietta. The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Housing, the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation, and the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater.

The meeting focused on the latest developments in drinking water and sanitation projects in Gharbia Governorate. These include the construction of treatment plants, sewage networks, and pressure lines, as well as the status of completed projects in the governorate and their handover procedures.

Additionally, the meeting reviewed the handover status of completed projects in Damietta Governorate, implemented by the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation. These projects comprise gravity sewer networks, pressure pipelines, and lifting and treatment stations.

The discussions also included projects currently being executed by the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater, which involve pressure lines and household sewage connections, as well as the implementation status of lifting stations and water plants.

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny emphasized the need to accelerate all ongoing works, avoid delays in project completion, and adhere to the predetermined timelines. He also stressed the importance of monitoring project completion rates on a weekly basis.
