Removal of Encroachments on 507 Acres in the New Cities of Beni Suef and Al-Fashn

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announced that encroachments and construction violations on a total area of 507 acres owned by the New Urban Communities Authority have been removed. The affected lands are located in the extension area of New Beni Suef City and in New Al-Fashn City. The removal was carried out in coordination between the respective city authorities and the relevant police forces.

The Minister of Housing emphasized that efforts to eliminate building violations—particularly those not in accordance with the Reconciliation Law on Building Violations and its executive regulations—will continue. He also highlighted the importance of addressing land encroachments within new city boundaries, noting that city authority heads have been assigned clear responsibilities in this regard as it falls under their direct duties.

Engineer Ahmed Abdel Gaber, Head of the New Beni Suef City Authority, stated that the campaign was conducted in cooperation with the Beni Suef Security Directorate, the Construction Police Department in the city, and the New Beni Suef Police Department. The campaign resulted in the complete removal of encroachments on a 300-acre plot of land, with an estimated value of EGP 1.5 billion. The full area was reclaimed, and legal action is being taken against the violators.

Meanwhile, Engineer Khaled Naif Abdelaziz, Head of the Fayoum City Authority and Supervisor of New Al-Fashn City, reported that the campaign was carried out in cooperation with the Construction Police of New Fayoum City and the relevant department. The operation led to the removal of encroachments and the recovery of a 207-acre plot. He confirmed a firm stance against any encroachments and violations within the city limits.
