Minister of Housing Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny explained that this massive park project spans 500 feddans in the heart of historic Cairo. Formerly used as a waste collection site, the area is being transformed into one of the largest parks in the Middle East. The park will feature 14 gates, including both main and secondary entrances, and is designed to revive Egypt’s rich heritage through various historical eras—Pharaonic, Coptic, Islamic, and Modern.

The Minister added that a wide range of cultural and commercial activities have been incorporated into the project, along with hotel services and open-air theaters. It also includes an antiquities zone with ancient excavation sites and heritage gardens. A prominent feature of the park is a large hill that provides a unique panoramic view of the Giza Pyramids, the Citadel of Salah El-Din, and Cairo’s skyline with its famous minarets.

El-Sherbiny pointed out that the Al-Fustat Hills Park project has created around 20,000 direct and indirect job opportunities, with 13 Egyptian contracting companies participating in its implementation. This aligns with the state’s broader efforts to reduce unemployment and stimulate the national economy.
