On May 12, 2025, the National Housing and Building Research Center held a seminar to discuss the “Guide to Indicators Necessary for Achieving Urban Quality of Life,” in alignment with Egypt’s Sustainable Development Strategy 2030 and the Presidential Initiative for a Decent Life. Dr. Mohamed Massoud, President of the Center, emphasized the importance of the guide in light of the rapid developments in the field of construction and urban growth in Egypt. He highlighted the Center’s role as a key driver of urban development and sustainability.
The state, through the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, seeks to implement current and future projects that meet the diverse needs of society and align with its developmental aspirations.
He pointed out that the guide includes fundamental requirements that can serve as a reference for evaluating and improving urban conditions in both existing and future urban communities. The aim is to achieve community satisfaction and ensure a decent quality of life for all societal groups by studying the urban aspects of metropolitan areas.
