Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, has overseen the implementation of 2,548 residential units within the “Diarna” housing project in New Sohag City, emphasizing the importance of proper planning for public services. The project is part of a broader initiative to develop Upper Egypt governorates. It features units ranging in size from 104 to 154 square meters and is located in a prime area near other residential compounds and distinguished housing zones, with convenient access from the main airport road.
The development will include a variety of essential and recreational facilities tailored to meet residents’ needs, such as places of worship, nurseries, commercial markets, and expansive green spaces. Additionally, the project ensures a high level of privacy and security through the construction of perimeter walls, main gates, advanced surveillance camera systems, and state-of-the-art fire protection technology.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Housing has announced the opening of applications for residential units in the Diarna middle-income housing project from April 15, 2025, to May 15, 2025. This offering marks the first phase of the largest housing allocation for middle-income earners in 2025, with New Sohag City among the participating locations.
