Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting yesterday evening to review the progress of drinking water and sanitation projects under the presidential “Decent Life” initiative in the governorates of Luxor, Kafr El-Sheikh, and Fayoum. The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Housing, the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation, and the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater.
The meeting addressed the latest developments in water and sanitation projects in the Esna and Armant districts of Luxor Governorate. These include the construction of the Halla and Deir treatment plants in Esna, and the expansion of the Armant treatment plant in the Armant district, as part of the “Decent Life” initiative.
Projects in the districts of Itsa and Youssef El-Siddiq in Fayoum Governorate were also reviewed, in addition to the execution status of water projects in the Motobas district of Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny stressed the need to accelerate all ongoing work and avoid delays in project completion, while adhering to the specified timelines. He also instructed that progress rates for all projects be monitored on a weekly basis.
