Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, reviewed the implementation status of investment plan projects during the last quarter of the fiscal year. She emphasized the urgency of completing these projects and overcoming challenges in coordination with contractors. During a meeting with the secretaries-general of the governorates, she also discussed recent developments related to reconciliation on building violations and the legalization of state-owned land, stressing the importance of daily monitoring to detect violations and coordinate the immediate implementation of necessary removals.
The Minister of Local Development stressed the importance of strengthening efforts at the governorate level to confront illegal construction and encroachments on agricultural and state-owned lands. She called for intensified inspection campaigns and firm action against violations. Additionally, she emphasized the need to finalize legalization requests that meet legal requirements and to eliminate obstacles in order to accelerate progress on the state land legalization file.
She further pointed out that the governorates’ targets for the 26th wave of encroachment removals must include all illegal developments across all governorates, in coordination with the relevant ministries. She also instructed close follow-up on reconciliation cases at technological centers and the provision of support to citizens, particularly following the Prime Minister’s decision to extend the period for submitting reconciliation requests by an additional six months starting May 5.
