Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting with representatives of the companies implementing components of the Fustat Hills Gardens Project in the Old Cairo area. This meeting marked the beginning of his inspection visit today. The aim of the meeting was to follow up on the progress of the work, the implementation status of the project, and the rates of completion, with the presence of officials from the Ministry and the Central Agency for Reconstruction.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny listened to a detailed presentation on the ongoing works in the investment zone, the river zone, the adventure zone, the heritage zone, as well as the hills, green landscaping works, and other components of the project.
The Minister of Housing directed the ministry’s work team to continue monitoring the implementing companies and to evaluate the ongoing activities. He emphasized the importance of accelerating the pace of work and compressing the timeline to complete the project within the scheduled period. He stressed the need for on-site presence and regular follow-ups on the implementation status while continuing to provide full support to the project.
During the meeting, the Minister of Housing reviewed the latest updates on the Fustat Hills Gardens Project, which spans 500 acres in the heart of historic Cairo. The project is considered one of the largest parks in the Middle East and aims to revive Egyptian heritage through different eras. It includes cultural and commercial activities, hotel services, an antiquities and excavation zone, and heritage gardens. It is distinguished by a large plateau offering a unique view of the Giza Pyramids and the Citadel of Saladin.
