Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held an extensive meeting yesterday evening to follow up on the progress of the projects being implemented by the Ministry’s entities within the framework of the presidential initiative “Decent Life” for the development of rural Egypt. The meeting focused on projects located in the centers and villages of Aswan and Beni Suef governorates. It is part of a series of periodic meetings aimed at monitoring the implementation rates of the initiative and was attended by heads and representatives of executing companies, sector leaders, and officials from affiliated ministry bodies.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister emphasized the importance of the projects under the presidential initiative “Decent Life,” noting that the purpose of such regular meetings is to review the latest developments on the ground, identify any implementation challenges, and work to overcome them where they exist. He also explained the Ministry’s vision for completing the ongoing projects.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny stressed the need to accelerate the execution of initiative-related projects, particularly the completion of the first phase soon, in order to expand the base of beneficiaries. He underlined the importance of on-site follow-ups to ensure adherence to set timelines. The Minister highlighted that the “Decent Life” projects have a direct impact on improving the quality of life for citizens by enhancing drinking water and sanitation services in targeted villages, with close monitoring at the governorate level to ensure project completion.
The meeting reviewed details of the projects being carried out by the Ministry of Water, including sanitation systems, treatment plants, and water networks in Aswan and Beni Suef. The discussion also covered the implementation status and coordination with participating entities. In conclusion, the Minister instructed for intensified on-site follow-ups and the holding of regular weekly meetings to track project progress and monitor supply and installation work.
