The Ministry of Housing has announced a designated period for submitting appeals related to disqualification. Citizens who were excluded due to the presence of an electricity meter may now submit their appeals electronically. Applicants must obtain official statements from electricity companies confirming that no electricity meter is registered in their name or in the name of any family member. These documents must be uploaded via the official website of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund for case review and appropriate decision-making.
The Egyptian Electricity Holding Company, in cooperation with nine electricity distribution companies, will review the data of applicants who did not meet the requirements, including national ID numbers and activity types. The goal is to expedite the appeal decision process. Starting April 30, 2025, the Social Housing Fund will send SMS messages to excluded applicants. These messages will include the relevant electricity distribution company’s details, the appeal submission period, and a link to submit the appeal online.

ToggleRequired Documents for Appeal Submission
Regarding the necessary documents for submitting appeals, Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund, clarified that the disqualification reason stems from non-compliance with the conditions of the Social Housing Program, which prohibits any family member from owning another residential unit. Therefore, applicants must submit the required documents to prove that the electricity meter does not belong to them or their family members.
Abdel Hamid also confirmed that the Fund continues to coordinate with relevant authorities to ensure that all submitted appeals are supported by valid documents. Citizens will be given the opportunity to complete any missing documents within the specified period.
