Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting to follow up on the procedures for utilizing the Ministries’ District area in cooperation with the private sector. The meeting was attended by several officials and business figures. Madbouly emphasized the importance of offering the area for tourism-related investment, pointing to directives issued to the Ministry of Investment. He also highlighted ideas proposed by Hisham Talaat Mostafa, a member of the Advisory Committee for Tourism Development, which could contribute to enhancing the value of the area.
Engineer Hassan El-Khatib, during the meeting, noted the efforts to maximize returns from the Ministries’ District and the assets affiliated with the Sovereign Fund of Egypt. He stressed ongoing communication with investors. The Minister of Investment reviewed the measures taken by the Sovereign Fund of Egypt to increase the value of government assets, referring to the collection of ideas from specialists to optimally utilize the Ministries’ District and Downtown area while preserving its architectural character and cultural value.
Hisham Talaat Mostafa presented ideas for developing the Ministries’ District to boost government revenues and enhance tourism. He emphasized the importance of having a comprehensive vision for planning the area and increasing the number of hotel rooms. He also called for decisions that would make the area more attractive to tourists and investors. In response, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly confirmed the existence of previous studies for the optimal use of the area, noting that they would be used in preparing the tender document. After the meeting, the Prime Minister assigned a working group from various ministries to prepare the document and provide clear answers to investor inquiries.
