Minister of Housing Forms Committee to Monitor Delayed Projects

Dr. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing, met with ministry officials and representatives of executing entities to discuss drinking water and sanitation projects. The meeting opened with a reference to the Minister of Housing’s decision to form a committee to monitor delayed projects, which will work on implementing urgent solutions to overcome obstacles. It was also emphasized that each entity must submit a weekly updated report on the status of the projects and its vision for resolving any issues.

Dr. Sayed Ismail stressed the importance of continuous coordination between relevant entities, including the ministry, the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation, and the project companies. He highlighted the need for regular meetings to discuss obstacles and develop plans to overcome them while adhering to project completion deadlines. He also called for using project analysis techniques and applying the value engineering concept to maximize investment benefits by classifying obstacles and prioritizing interventions.

The Deputy Minister of Housing emphasized the importance of holding weekly meetings of the committee responsible for monitoring delayed projects, which includes representatives from the executing entities, to track project progress and resolve obstacles. At the end of the meeting, he stressed the necessity for all parties to fulfill their required tasks and coordinate with other ministries to accelerate implementation rates.
