Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, met last evening with representatives of a global company specializing in constructing “Crystal Lagoon” lakes and wastewater treatment. Officials from the ministry and the New Urban Communities Authority attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the Minister of Housing reviewed various innovative proposals and ideas for establishing “Crystal Lagoon” lakes using unconventional methods, moving away from traditional approaches that rely on healthy water. Additionally, discussions were held on implementing various investment activities surrounding the lagoons, including entertainment and tourism projects. Furthermore, advanced and environmentally friendly proposals for wastewater treatment were presented.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny emphasized that efforts are underway to develop a waterfront area on the lands located south of the International Coastal Road by constructing water lagoons. This initiative aims to maximize the advantages of these lands, increase their value, and create more investment opportunities for tourism development projects. The project will also increase the number of hotel units and rooms to accommodate the expected rise in tourist numbers on the North Coast in the coming years.
The Minister of Housing also prepared a comprehensive vision for the proposed projects, ensuring that all necessary aspects are studied before initiating implementation. He stressed the importance of optimizing the use of vacant lands and attracting further investments.
