Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, met with Engineer Amin Ghoneim, Deputy Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority for Utilities and Maintenance of Networks and Stations, to review the progress of road and axis maintenance in new cities. Ministry officials and sector representatives attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny reviewed the implementation status of road maintenance projects in 26 cities. Maintenance work is currently being carried out in 24 road and axis projects, with an additional nine projects in the preparation phase for tendering. He emphasized the importance of executing maintenance work according to the highest standards and using the latest technologies while ensuring regular maintenance of green areas along the main roads and axes.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny also stressed the need for a comprehensive mechanism to monitor all road and axis maintenance project activities. He instructed that these guidelines be communicated to all relevant entities for proper implementation and called for regular monitoring of the executing companies to accelerate the work pace.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister of Housing emphasized the importance of continuous coordination with relevant authorities to prevent any disruptions to city traffic flow during maintenance work. He also urged coordination with establishments within the maintenance zones to ensure their operations are not affected.
