Implementation of 54.6 Thousand Apartments Under the Green Housing Program in 9 New Cities

Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund, announced that 54.6 thousand housing units are being implemented under the Green Housing Program in nine cities, including Hadayek Al-Asimah, New Aswan, and New Obour.

She stated that the fund intends to expand the green housing initiative, with apartments featuring different specifications than traditional housing. The units will range from 75 to 90 square meters and be constructed using diverse techniques.

She also emphasized the importance of having a guide for the building materials required in green housing and providing certifications for contractors working in this field, which would encourage them to strive for excellence.

Furthermore, she highlighted that the fund was fortunate to collaborate with the National Housing and Building Research Center, which provided technical support for the Green Architecture Initiative launched by the fund in 2020.
