Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, visited the wastewater treatment plant rehabilitation project in 15th of May City, which has a capacity of 30,000 m³/day. The visit comes as part of efforts to improve the city’s infrastructure. Several ministry officials accompanied the minister as he reviewed the project’s components. He noted that the first phase (10,000 m³/day) has been completed, while work is underway on the second phase (20,000 m³/day). Additionally, he inspected the plant’s laboratory and emphasized the importance of monitoring the quality of the final output.
Continuing his tour, the Minister of Housing visited the green spaces area, reviewing progress in agricultural development across 400 feddans in the city. He highlighted the enhancement of 50 feddans and used treated wastewater to irrigate 65 feddans, including the central park and Neighborhood 6 Park. The minister praised the project’s planning and execution, instructing that work on rehabilitating the wastewater treatment plant be accelerated to ensure it becomes operational soon as part of plans to improve sanitation services. He also stressed the importance of maintaining green spaces to improve the aesthetic appeal of the 15th of May City.
