Minister of Housing Follows Up on the Progress of New Zayed Expansion Projects

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, followed up on the progress of expansion projects in Sheikh Zayed City, covering an area of 8,336 acres under the name “New Zayed.” The projects include constructing drinking water and sewage pipelines and main roads to establish an integrated urban community. The expansions are located in the western extension of the city and have been planned to meet residential, service, commercial, and recreational needs. The minister emphasized the benefit of adhering to deadlines and quality standards while overcoming obstacles to ensure smooth project execution.

Engineer Ahmed Ali, Assistant Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority, conducted a field visit to monitor utility and road projects in the Sheikh Zayed expansion area. Engineer Marwa Hussein and several officials accompanied him. The tour included an inspection of a 1,200 mm water pipeline, which represents a significant step in securing water supply. Additionally, 95% of the other water pipelines, totaling 25 km, have been completed to ensure clean and high-quality water for the projects.

The tour also covered the construction of roads in the expansion area, focusing on the development of key main roads essential for traffic movement. Roads with a width of 50 meters are being constructed, with completion expected within a year and a half. Moreover, the delegation reviewed the sewage network projects featuring pipelines of various diameters, reaching up to 1,400 mm, covering the entire southern extension of the city. After the visit, officials stressed the need to expedite the implementation of the projects while maintaining high-quality standards to achieve the developmental objectives.
