Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, received Dr. Ahmed El-Ansari, Governor of Fayoum, at the New Administrative Capital to discuss joint projects. The Deputy Governor and several ministry officials attended the meeting. El-Sherbiny reaffirmed his support for housing and infrastructure projects in Fayoum, emphasizing the importance of expediting procedures. El-Ansari expressed his appreciation for the ministry’s cooperation in the construction and infrastructure sectors, highlighting the positive impact on citizens’ lives.
During the meeting, the Minister of Housing and the Governor of Fayoum discussed strengthening coordination between the ministry and the governorate, focusing on meeting the electricity needs of the Demo area. Demo is a promising zone for urban expansion, housing thousands of residential units and investment projects, including schools and universities. The discussion also touched on key development projects such as the high-speed electric train, the new general hospital, and the strategic warehouse for essential goods, which connects Fayoum with Cairo and Upper Egypt governorates.
The meeting also addressed the optimal utilization of residential units in the social housing projects in the Shadmo and Damascus areas. Additionally, they reviewed the progress of the European loan project, which aims to restore the ecological balance of Lake Qarun by financing the establishment and efficiency improvement of several sewage treatment plants. The governor praised the project’s execution rate and appreciated the efforts of the Ministries of Environment and Irrigation.
