Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, followed up on the latest developments regarding the regularization of citizens’ land requests in the newly added areas of New Obour City, following its transfer of authority to the Ministry of Housing. He also reviewed the progress of the Presidential Initiative “Housing for All Egyptians,” and the ongoing construction of new units through inspection tours and project reports.
Eng. El-Sherbiny explained that New Obour City has seen a high volume of requests for land regularization, with the City Authority receiving over 94,000 applications so far. He directed efforts to facilitate the regularization process for citizens and entities in the newly added areas of the city, in accordance with the established guidelines. He also highlighted the thousands of residential units being built as part of the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative and urged for the completion of the remaining work on the units designated for citizens, ensuring their delivery according to scheduled timelines. This will provide assurance to applicants and meet the increasing demand for housing.
Dr. Ahmed Ismail Jaber, Head of the New Obour City Authority, visited the Technology Center for Customer Services and Land Regularization to address any obstacles and expedite the land regularization process. During his visit, he observed the efforts of the teams handling citizens’ requests for land regularization, praising the steps taken to enhance transparency, simplify the submission process, and speed up reviews.
Dr. Jaber emphasized the importance of accelerating the technical procedures for reviewing and studying land regularization requests while ensuring a balance between fast processing and safeguarding citizens’ legal rights. He also reviewed several cases to ensure accuracy and expedite implementation.
During the visit, Dr. Jaber listened to citizens’ inquiries and suggestions, assuring them that reviewing and verifying their data would help protect their rights and ensure ownership. He stressed that the authority is working diligently to finalize this process as quickly as possible, with a strong focus on transparency and supporting citizens by addressing their issues and responding to their concerns.
Dr. Jaber concluded his tour by reaffirming the full commitment to transparency in land regularization procedures, stressing the importance of improving the citizen experience through digital services that reduce burdens and streamline transactions.
Additionally, Dr. Jaber visited District 15 of New Obour City, which contains 705 buildings with a total of 16,920 residential units, and District 16, which includes 433 buildings with a total of 10,392 residential units. These districts are part of the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative, and Dr. Jaber was accompanied by city authority officials and implementing companies during the inspection.
