Minister of Housing Inspects “Azbakeya Garden Revival” and “Maspero Triangle” Development Projects

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, continued his inspection tour today by visiting the ongoing “Azbakeya Garden Revival” project. This project is part of the wider efforts to redevelop Cairo’s historic district, and it is being executed by the Ministry of Housing. Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, along with ministry officials, the New Urban Communities Authority, and representatives from the executing companies, welcomed the Minister.

El-Sherbiny and his team toured various sections of the garden to assess the progress of its revitalization. They reviewed the installation and procurement of components, commending the scale of work and achievements made thus far. The Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining the highest quality standards to ensure the timely opening of the park, which is set to become a key recreational space for Cairo’s residents.

The project includes several elements such as a lake, an ancient fountain, a Roman theater, pergolas, a cafeteria, a restaurant, and surrounding walls. The work focuses on three main areas: preserving valuable heritage trees, restoring key features like the ancient fountain and the club building, and revitalizing the lake, open-air theater, cafeteria, and historical pergolas.

Following this, El-Sherbiny visited the “Maspero Triangle” redevelopment project to inspect the execution status and assess the ongoing work. He addressed the challenges and obstacles facing the project, stressing the need for high-quality implementation. He emphasized the project’s potential to become one of Cairo’s landmark developments while underlining the importance of adhering to the established timeline for completion.
