Egyptian Cabinet Approves Social Compensation and Project Advancements

The Egyptian Cabinet, during its meeting on Wednesday, approved the disbursement of social compensation for individuals residing in or utilizing homes and lands expropriated for the Western Arc of the General Omar Suleiman Axis project. This initiative is being implemented under the supervision of the Central Agency for Reconstruction, taking into account social considerations.

Objectives of the Western Arc Project

The project aims to establish a vital connection between the Alexandria Desert Road and the Northwestern Coast of Alexandria Governorate, enhancing regional transportation and accessibility.

Approval of Engineering Committee Recommendations

Additionally, the Cabinet endorsed the decisions and recommendations from the Ministerial Engineering Committee meeting held on December 16, 2024. These include awarding contracts to companies or increasing project allocations for the completion of ongoing works. This approval covers 32 projects across various ministries, including:

  • Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities
  • Industry and Transportation
  • Higher Education and Scientific Research

The decision ensures optimal utilization of investments already made in these projects and accelerates their completion to deliver benefits to the public.

This move underscores the government’s commitment to infrastructure development while addressing the social impact of large-scale projects.
