Ongoing Development and Maintenance of Industrial Zones in Egypt’s New Cities

The Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, highlighted the continued progress in developing and upgrading infrastructure in industrial zones across New Damietta, New Suez, and 10th of Ramadan cities. These efforts include the maintenance of water and sewage networks, station upgrades, and road improvement projects.

Supporting Industrial Investors

The minister emphasized simplifying processes for investors, particularly by ensuring utilities are completed in newly planned industrial areas before allocation. Lands will only be offered with full infrastructure, separated from residential zones.

Progress Across Cities

  1. New Damietta
Eng. Ashraf Fathy Mahmoud, Head of the New Damietta City Authority, inspected road upgrades, water network renewal, and sewage network reinforcement in the industrial zone. He stressed the importance of adhering to high-quality standards and timely completion to enhance services and attract investments. Efforts also include landscaping, maintenance, and operational improvements.
  2. New Suez
Eng. Asmaa Makhlouf, Head of the New Suez City Authority, reviewed water system efficiency in the first industrial district. Inspections included the 900 mm water pump, storage tanks, and water distribution networks to ensure quality and compliance with health standards. These measures aim to support industrial operations and maintain infrastructure sustainability.
  3. 10th of Ramadan
Eng. Alaa Abdel-Lah Mostafa, Head of the City Authority, monitored the improvement of industrial wastewater management. Key projects include the elimination of unauthorized water ponds and the construction of sedimentation basins to meet the growing needs of the city.
