Egypt Receives Prestigious Housing Award for Rawdat Al-Sayeda Project

Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, accepted an award recognizing the Rawdat Al-Sayeda Project as the best-executed housing project. The award was presented during the 41st session of the Arab Housing Ministers Council and the 8th Arab Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development held in Algeria. The project was commended for its remarkable urban transformation and positive impact on residents’ lives.

The minister extended his congratulations to Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Egypt’s Prime Minister, who initiated and monitored the project during his tenure as Minister of Housing. Dr. Assem El-Gazzar, the previous Minister of Housing, was also praised for his efforts in the project’s completion.

Additionally, El-Sherbiny expressed gratitude to the Urban Development Fund, led by Eng. Khaled Seddik, the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), and all contributors, including the Central Agency for Reconstruction, headed by Major General Mahmoud Nassar, the Ministry of Housing, Cairo Governorate, EDG Environmental Design Group, and the project’s architect, Eng. Mohamed El-Khatib.

Recognition for Rawdat October Housing Project

The minister also received a certificate of appreciation for the Rawdat October Project, a public housing initiative managed by NUCA and located in the Gardens of October City.

Transforming Tell El-Akareb into a Modern Community

Originally known as Tell El-Akareb, the Rawdat Al-Sayeda Project transformed a slum plagued by inadequate infrastructure into a modern urban community. It aims to create an architecturally distinct environment while respecting local cultural and historical heritage.

The project’s focus on balanced service provision and quality has made it a vital contributor to improving residents’ quality of life.

A Celebration of Arab Housing Efforts

These awards underscore the commitment of Arab nations to housing and sustainable urban development. Recognizing exemplary projects with integrated services, the awards encourage innovation and practical solutions rooted in the region’s architectural and engineering heritage
