During his visit to Port Said, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly demanded swift action from Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, after complaints about accumulated construction debris in one of the city’s streets.
The issue arose while the Prime Minister was reviewing the development plan for the Stalingrad Axis, and a local parliamentary representative brought up the matter. She explained that when she approached the governor to resolve the issue, she was told the responsibility lay with the Housing Ministry.
Immediate Intervention
Visibly concerned, Dr. Madbouly directed the Housing Minister to ensure the debris is removed promptly and to provide before-and-after documentation of the clean-up effort.
In response, Engineer El-Sherbiny confirmed in a statement to Al-Masry Al-Youm that he had issued immediate orders for the waste removal in coordination with the governorate. He also noted communication with Governor Major General Mohab Habashy, who proposed recycling the debris at another site. Nevertheless, the Minister assured that the waste would be cleared within the day, in line with the Prime Minister’s instructions.
This swift response highlights the government’s commitment to addressing local concerns and maintaining the cleanliness and development of urban areas like Port Said.
