Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announced the launch of a large-scale campaign to remove encroachments on state-owned lands within the perimeter of New Beni Mazar City. The campaign successfully reclaimed 90 feddans of land. Similar operations were conducted to address building violations and illegal water connections in 6th of October and Sheikh Zayed cities, reinforcing efforts to prevent violations and protect public assets.

Engineer Ahmed Mostafa Mohamed, Head of the New Minya City Authority and supervisor of New Beni Mazar City, highlighted that the campaign followed directives from Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny to decisively curb illegal activities and preserve the orderly development of new cities. The campaign, conducted with the supervision of Major General Ahmed Hussein, General Supervisor of the Upper Egypt Region, involved officers and personnel from the Urban Development Police.
Tackling Illegal Water Connections
In Sheikh Zayed City, an extensive campaign was launched to uncover and address unauthorized water connections. Engineer Marwa Hussein Amin, Head of the Sheikh Zayed City Authority, reported the detection of multiple illegal water connections. She emphasized the city’s commitment to taking legal action against offenders while urging violators to regularize their contracts and pay overdue amounts. Residents can report violations via the 15100 hotline.
Addressing Building Violations in 6th of October City
The 6th of October City Authority, led by Engineer Mohamed Mostafa, carried out a series of campaigns targeting building violations across the city. Key results included:
- Immediate halting and removal of violations such as exceeding approved building ratios in various locations, including:
- Plot No. 1650 in the Second District
- Plots along the “Alaa El-Din” axis
- Several plots in the Small Investor Zone
- Commercial activity changes to basements without proper permits
- Removal of unauthorized activities on multiple plots and confiscation of equipment.
- Eliminating public space encroachments, particularly in Al-Hosary Square and surrounding major roads. Confiscated items included two food carts, three tricycles, and six tuk-tuks.
Engineer Ahmed Namour, Deputy Head of the 6th of October Development Authority, affirmed the city’s commitment to strict law enforcement, ensuring compliance with regulations and addressing violations promptly.
