Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, monitored the progress of tourism and development projects in the North Coast, particularly within the jurisdiction of the Tourism Villages Development Authority. These include the ongoing upgrades and construction in several villages, as well as compliance with approved project plans and building permits.
The Minister emphasized the need to accelerate development efforts and enhance efficiency across all tourism villages, calling for regular inspections to ensure adherence to the approved designs and licenses.
Eng. Hossam El-Din Abdo, Head of the Third Sector in the North Coast, conducted field visits to oversee the implementation of these projects. Among the inspected sites was a tourism village in the Sidi Heneish Bahari area, located along the Alexandria-Matrouh Coastal Road.
During the visits, he verified that the on-ground progress aligns with the ministerial-approved master plan and the issued building licenses. The project has so far received around 454 building permits, with more permits set to be issued as needed to meet project timelines.
Another project in Sidi Heneish was inspected, with a focus on expediting the construction of buildings and hotel units. Eng. Hossam El-Din highlighted the need to increase hotel unit capacity by at least 50% of the total units to meet the growing demand in the North Coast region.
He further noted that these inspections align with directives from Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny, which stress the importance of adhering to project timelines and ensuring efficient execution. The projects span the new urban communities’ jurisdiction, covering approximately 707 kilometers from kilometer marker 34 to the city of Salloum in western Matrouh Governorate.
This oversight ensures that the North Coast’s development aligns with strategic goals, providing enhanced tourism infrastructure and services.
