Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting on Sunday evening to review the ongoing work in the new cities west of Cairo, including 6th of October City, Sheikh Zayed, New October, and 6th October Gardens. The meeting was attended by ministry officials, representatives from the New Urban Communities Authority, and officials from the city authorities.

- Minister El-Sherbiny emphasized the need for prioritizing cleanliness, public lighting, and the maintenance of green spaces. He stressed the importance of removing waste, intensifying campaigns to eliminate violations, encroachments, and any unlicensed construction, and maintaining the cities’ aesthetic identity and architectural integrity.

- Setting Standards for Companies:
- The Minister instructed the establishment of clear criteria for selecting the best companies for operations, maintenance, and cleanliness. Regular monitoring and assessment of these companies’ performance will be conducted through set standards to ensure they are fulfilling their responsibilities effectively.

- Enhanced Field Supervision and Enforcement:
- Engineer El-Sherbiny tasked the officials from the New Urban Communities Authority and the city management teams in 6th October, Sheikh Zayed, New October, and 6th October Gardens with regular field visits to monitor the progress of various development projects and the handling of violations.
- He underscored the need to address any illegal actions and informal practices firmly and swiftly, while also overseeing the performance of the operation and maintenance companies.
