Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announced that the Sphinx New City Authority has launched a campaign to remove encroachments and reclaim lands owned by the New Urban Communities Authority within the boundaries of Sphinx New City. The operation successfully removed violations and recovered a total of 168.48 acres of land west of the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road along the Sphinx axis.

Ownership and Legal Recovery
Eng. Ahmed Ibrahim Anwar, Head of the Sphinx New City Authority, clarified that the recovered land was transferred to the city authority’s ownership under a decision dated November 13, 2024. The decision officially allocated the land back to the authority for proper management and development.
Preventing Future Encroachments
The Head of the Authority emphasized the need to take severe legal action against any individuals or entities promoting the sale of state-owned lands that have been illegally encroached upon, in order to protect public property and safeguard the rights of citizens.
