New Urban Communities Authority Announces Open Call for Legalization of Status for Entities in Damietta New City

The New Urban Communities Authority has announced the opening of a two-month window for entities (companies, individuals, etc.) who previously dealt with the relevant authorities under the former legal framework regarding land within the boundaries of the presidential decree No. 262 of 2018. This decree relates to the adjustment of the boundaries of the Port and New Damietta City. Applications should be submitted to the headquarters of the New Damietta City Development Authority.

Process for Regularizing Status

Dr. Hassan Al-Shourbagy, Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority for Real Estate and Commercial Affairs, explained that the initiative follows the decision by the Central Unit for Policy and Regulations related to entities and individuals on land added to the jurisdiction of several new cities. This process is aligned with the Cabinet’s regulations regarding the collection of state dues. The Authority is committed to safeguarding the interests of citizens and entities situated on lands added to the jurisdiction of these cities, and ensuring that practical and tangible outcomes are achieved.

Required Documents

Dr. Al-Shourbagy further clarified that applicants must submit all documents proving ownership or possession of the land, which must include:

  • Original documents for verification,
  • Copies of ownership or possession documents,
  • A certified survey map from an approved authority, in accordance with the regulations governing such matters.

Warnings on Unauthorized Actions

The Authority has issued a strict warning to all companies, associations, individuals, and other entities to refrain from taking any actions or initiating the construction of buildings on these lands without prior approval from the relevant development authority. Any violations will result in immediate legal action. Furthermore, any dealings conducted in violation of these procedures will be considered absolutely invalid and will not be recognized by the Authority.
