Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, alongside Ni Hong, China’s Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and Yang Yi, the Chinese Consul General in Alexandria, attended the celebration marking the structural completion of the Iconic Tower in New Alamein City.
Minister El-Sherbiny praised the achievement, noting that the progress made in New Alamein represents a significant accomplishment for Egypt. He highlighted the full support provided by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for key national projects in fourth-generation cities, particularly New Alamein and the New Administrative Capital. These cities are being developed under Egypt’s National Strategic Urban Development Plan, a vision championed by the President and now realized on the ground.
El-Sherbiny expressed Egypt’s eagerness to deepen collaboration with CSCEC, the Chinese construction giant, to continue building on these shared successes. He emphasized the strong relationship between Egypt and China, which has facilitated such transformative projects.
In his remarks, the Housing Minister invited his Chinese counterpart and CSCEC officials to participate in the upcoming World Urban Forum. Their involvement, he noted, would spotlight the significant achievements made through Egypt-China cooperation.
The event was attended by Wen Bing, General Manager of CSCEC, alongside officials from Egypt’s Ministry of Housing, the New Urban Communities Authority, ENCOM, and project consultants.
