The heads of the Al-Obour, New Cairo, and Badr city authorities conducted inspection tours of development and infrastructure projects across various areas. These visits aimed to oversee project progress and address any obstacles in line with the directives of Housing and Urban Communities Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny, who called for regular monitoring of ongoing projects in new cities.
In Al-Obour, Engineer Ahmed Rashad, Head of the Al-Obour City Authority, reviewed the installation of electrical ducts as part of the power support project for Station 5, accompanied by officials from the authority. He explained that this project aims to bolster the electrical capacity in industrial zones, specifically in areas B and C, in coordination with the North Cairo Electricity Distribution Company. The project involves the installation of 16 cables to supply distribution stations in the industrial zone, ensuring reliable power for subscribers. The cables, spanning 24,000 meters, were installed per Egyptian technical standards for cable-laying.
Rashad emphasized the importance of this project, noting that it coincides with the operational launch of Power Station 5 in industrial zones B and C. This station, with an impressive capacity of approximately 160 megawatts, represents a significant addition to Al-Obour’s infrastructure, boosting available electrical capacity for future investment expansions.
In New Cairo, Engineer Abdelraouf El-Ghaity, Head of the New Cairo City Authority, inspected the construction of Sewage Station No. 12, designated to serve the Andalus area in the Third Settlement. El-Ghaity reported that civil works are ongoing at the station and a new centralized storage area for water and sewage project components has been established.
El-Ghaity also assessed upgrades underway at Water Pump Station No. 1 on South Teseen Street and checked progress on various developments in the Third Settlement. These include improvements to Talaat Harb Corridor, which runs from the Old Sokhna Road to South Teseen Street, serving the Youth Housing area and the Al-Narges Extension area.
He further noted that efforts are ongoing to upgrade the Hadaiqi Road, a main artery in the Third Settlement that links the Al-Obour axis with South Teseen Street, and serves areas such as Andalus, the industrial zone, and various residential sectors.
