Egypt to Offer 70,000 Housing Units under the “Housing for All Egyptians” Project

Cairo – Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Sheref El-Sherbiny, has announced the launch of approximately 70,000 new housing units within a month as part of the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative. The offering will include 60,000 units for low-income citizens and an additional 10,000 units for middle-income residents.

During a General Assembly session of the Egyptian Senate, which discussed amendments to the 2008 Building Law, El-Sherbiny emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting underprivileged groups through affordable housing programs. The initiative also aims to provide housing options for middle- and upper-middle-income citizens.

The distribution of the 70,000 units will allocate 60,000 to low-income families and 10,000 to middle-income families. Additionally, the Ministry of Housing is working on providing premium and investment housing units in cities like New Alamein, Mansoura, and the New Administrative Capital. These projects are designed to generate financial returns, which will be reinvested to support affordable housing projects for low-income citizens.

El-Sherbiny also confirmed the government’s continued efforts to monitor the construction of housing units under the “Housing for All Egyptians” project across multiple governorates, ensuring access to affordable homes for many citizens.
