Collaboration Between Housing and Public Business Ministers to Enhance Asset Development

On Wednesday evening, Engineer Sherif El-Shorbiny, the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and Engineer Mohamed Shimy, the Minister of Public Business Sector, held their second meeting within a month to explore ways to strengthen cooperation in developing assets and lands belonging to public business sector companies. The meeting was attended by leaders from both ministries and officials from relevant agencies.

The ministers reviewed the progress made since their last meeting, discussing what experts from both sides had achieved on joint files. They also deliberated on opportunities and mechanisms for the development of land owned by public business sector companies located in prime areas across various governorates. This aligns with the government’s strategy to maximize the benefit from available assets.

Additionally, El-Shorbiny and Shimy addressed challenges faced by contracting companies under the Holding Company for Construction and Development in executing certain projects. They agreed to establish a joint committee of specialists from both ministries to discuss the detailed status of each project and take necessary actions to accelerate work rates, particularly regarding the presidential initiative “Decent Life,” aimed at rural development in Egypt.

El-Shorbiny emphasized that the Ministry of Housing is committed to deepening and enhancing cooperation with various ministries and state agencies to unify efforts toward advancing comprehensive development throughout Egypt, in line with directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He stressed the importance of regular follow-ups and joint coordination among specialists from both sides to expedite the resolution of shared matters.

For his part, Shimy noted that the Ministry of Public Business Sector is keen on fostering collaboration and coordination with all governmental ministries and entities to achieve a synergistic effort that supports the new republic’s construction and development goals. He highlighted that utilizing and developing assets to maximize their returns is a top priority in the ministry’s strategy for reforming and developing its affiliated companies, contributing to the establishment of urban and developmental projects in various governorates. He commended the fruitful collaboration between the ministry’s companies and the New Urban Communities Authority.
