Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, emphasized that no reconciliation will be allowed for building violations committed after the issuance of Law No. 187 of 2023. The law, which regulates the reconciliation of certain building infractions, aims to maintain urban order and curb illegal constructions.
The minister urged citizens with building violations that fall under the provisions of the reconciliation law to submit their applications before the November 4th deadline. He reaffirmed the ministry’s ongoing efforts to remove building violations and illegal encroachments in various newly developed cities, stressing that the campaigns will continue to ensure compliance with the law.
El-Sherbiny made it clear that the government will not tolerate any leniency in enforcing the law, aiming to eliminate unregulated developments and preserve the urban aesthetic of new cities while upholding the state’s authority.
In a related effort, Eng. Mohamed El-Sayed Abdel-Maksoud, Head of the Shorouk City Authority, reported that the city’s removal committee has been actively addressing illegal constructions. Recently, two residential buildings were demolished for exceeding the permitted construction limits, and further action has been taken to halt any future transactions involving the properties.
He further noted that a campaign targeting commercial markets in two service centers led to the issuance of 12 violation reports, the confiscation of illegal goods, and the clearing of public gardens and pedestrian pathways. These actions reflect the government’s commitment to maintaining order and ensuring adherence to urban regulations.
