Housing Minister and Giza Governor Discuss Development Plans Around the Pyramids

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and Engineer Adel El-Naggar, Governor of Giza, held a meeting to review the development plan for the area surrounding the Pyramids. The meeting, attended by key officials including Deputy Governor of Giza Hinda Abdelhalim, Assistant Minister for Technical Affairs Dr. Abdelkhaleq Ibrahim, and Head of the General Authority for Urban Planning Dr. Maha Fahim, aimed to finalize the implementation strategies ahead of the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Minister El-Sherbiny emphasized the importance of enhancing the area around the Pyramids to reflect its historical and archaeological significance. He outlined the state’s vision for a comprehensive development that extends beyond the museum itself to the entire surrounding area. This approach aligns with Egypt’s goal to position the region as a premier global tourist destination and to attract tourism investment.

Governor El-Naggar expressed full cooperation with all relevant ministries and authorities to ensure a comfortable experience for visitors to the archaeological site. He highlighted the government’s commitment to the area, recognizing it as one of the world’s most important tourist, archaeological, and cultural attractions. The development aims to transform the visitor experience by improving the essential services from the entrance to the Pyramids area through to the end of their visit.

This collaborative effort reflects Egypt’s broader strategy to enhance its cultural and historical landmarks, paving the way for increased tourism and global recognition.
