Ministry of Housing Enhances Water Supply System in Sadat City

The Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities continues to upgrade the technical and operational efficiency of the water supply system in Sadat City. The ministry has issued a strict warning to companies lagging behind in their work, stating that projects delayed beyond the specified deadlines will be withdrawn and re-tendered to more compliant contractors.

Eng. Ashraf Fathy, Assistant Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) for the Development and City Improvement Sector, visited Sadat City to monitor the progress of the water supply and sewage systems. Accompanied by officials from NUCA and the city’s development authority, he also reviewed the execution of utility, electricity, and maintenance projects. The visit was conducted following directives from Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, and Eng. Amin Ghoneim, Vice President of NUCA, emphasizing the importance of regular field visits to water and sewage stations.

During the visit, Eng. Fathy inspected the operational status of the water supply system, including the raw water intake (capacity of 105,000 cubic meters per day) and the surface water station (capacity of 102,000 cubic meters per day). He instructed that companies failing to meet deadlines for their assigned projects should have their contracts revoked, and new contractors brought in to ensure the authority’s commitments are met.

Furthermore, continuous monitoring of the operational status of the stations is essential to ensure any necessary upgrades are implemented without delay. This will maintain the readiness and performance of the stations, ensuring they function optimally and protect NUCA’s assets.

In line with directives to enhance the city’s appearance, Sadat City’s Agricultural Department has intensified maintenance of green spaces, trimming trees, and planting new greenery across several residential areas. These efforts aim to preserve the city’s aesthetic and improve the landscaping in various districts.
