The Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities has announced the continuation of inspection campaigns targeting apartments and residential units within the Social Housing Projects across various governorates and cities. This comes after detecting violations committed by some beneficiaries, which constitute a direct breach of contract terms and an infringement on the rights of eligible citizens.
The ministry stated on its official Facebook page that it is committed to enforcing the law on all violators without exception, confirming that residential units will be withdrawn from individuals who violate the contract conditions in the following cases:
-
Subletting the unit without obtaining prior written approval from the New Urban Communities Authority.
-
Failure to receive the unit within the specified timeframe despite being notified in advance.
-
Discovery of forged or manipulated documents during the application process.
-
Converting the residential unit into a commercial or administrative activity, which contradicts the main purpose of the project.
-
Transferring or selling the unit to another party without obtaining official approval from the owning authority.

The ministry added that inspection campaigns are conducted regularly and on-site across all locations covered by the social housing projects through specialized judicial committees. These committees are responsible for detecting violations and verifying compliance with contract terms. The ministry emphasized that these committees hold full legal authority to take necessary actions, including withdrawing the unit from violators and obligating them to refund the government subsidies they received.
The ministry also stressed the importance of beneficiaries adhering to the contractual terms documented in the conditions booklet, confirming that actual residence in the unit is an essential requirement for maintaining the right to benefit from it. It clarified that selling or renting the unit is strictly prohibited for a period of seven years from the date of receiving it, and that the unit must only be used for residential purposes—not for commercial or administrative activities.
