Minister of Housing and Kafr El-Sheikh Governor Inaugurate the Drinking Water Station in Deqmira Village Today

On Saturday morning, the inauguration ceremony of the first drinking water station in Deqmira village, part of Kafr El-Sheikh Center, was launched in the presence of the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, and Kafr El-Sheikh Governor, Major General Alaa Abdel-Moaty. This project represents an important step toward strengthening essential services and achieving a qualitative leap in the region.

The new station, described as a significant addition to the service sector, will serve more than four rural councils, including Deqmira, El-Khademiya, Al-Marabeen, and Al-Hilafi along with their extensions. These areas have long suffered from weak water supply and low pumping rates, especially during the summer when demand increases sharply.

With a pumping capacity reaching 120 liters per second, the new station comes with guarantees to improve water pressure and ensure continuous service throughout the day. It was built on an area of approximately 8 qirats and meets all the required technical standards to ensure high-quality drinking water delivered to residents consistently.

The opening of this station is part of the state’s comprehensive strategy to enhance the infrastructure of drinking water and wastewater services across Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate. These efforts aim to improve living conditions in underserved villages and drive sustainable development across the region.

During their field visit, the Minister of Housing and the Kafr El-Sheikh Governor are scheduled to inspect the station’s various sections in addition to reviewing the connection lines and networks supplying the four rural councils. Operational procedures will begin immediately after the official opening to provide households with the much-needed water supply.

Residents of Deqmira expressed their gratitude for this project, which represents a long-awaited and lasting solution after years of facing water shortage challenges. The station brings a major boost to improving daily life across the four villages and their extensions, reinforcing the sense of ongoing government commitment to developing these vital areas.
