The head of the Urban Development Fund, Engineer Khaled Siddiq, confirmed the transformation of the Al-Fustat area from a garbage dump into the largest park in the Middle East, featuring vast green spaces and integrated cultural and entertainment facilities.
He explained that the project is part of the state’s urban development strategy, describing it as a gift to Egyptians and a dedicated space for hosting cultural and recreational events.

The park includes 500 acres of landscaped greenery, placing it on par with world-class parks such as Hyde Park. It is currently hosting the Winter Festival in the Arena Zone, as well as heritage gardens, with expansion plans underway in cooperation with the Ministries of Culture and Youth & Sports.
Siddiq noted that the project reflects the state’s vision of transforming challenges into development opportunities, praising the role of political leadership and the government in its implementation. He added that the area has been transformed from a waste site into an urban landmark and a hub for major events. The full opening of the project is expected at the beginning of next year, making it a new attraction for residents and visitors alike.
